Ha Thanh village – a primitive Tay village near Ha Giang City

Although not far from Ha Giang City, not many people know about Ha Thanh Village. Ha Thanh is a small Tay village located at the foot of the Tay Con Linh range (the roof of Ha Giang). The entire village consists of just nearly 100 households, nestled among terraced rice fields and huge black rocks.

How to get to Ha Thanh Village

Follow National Highway 2 from the center of Ha Giang City towards the Thanh Thuy international border gate, at Km6, you will see the village gate on the left side of the road. Alternatively, you can use Google Maps to navigate to “Ha Thanh Village”. The best experience is to trek around the village to perceive the life there.

When trekking around the village, one thing you will notice is that each traditional stilt house has a small fish pond. The locals feed a special kind of fish as a family treasure. The people here are self-sufficient in their rice cultivation and animal husbandry. One thing that is even more impressive is that many generations still live together under the same roof.
One of the experiences not to be missed when coming there is swimming at waterfall 6 located at the end of the village. From here, you can also connect to the trekking trail up to “Na Thac – Khuoi My – Lung Vai” – primitive Dao villages located on the mountain slope”.
